Coraline

Coraline erinnert mich mit dem all age Charakter und sehr düsteren Fantasy / dem Horror an Werke wie Momo und Pans Labyrinth. Liest sich an ein bis zwei Tagen locker weg aber ist in meinen Augen nicht, wie hier vermerkt, für 8 Jährige geeignet. Dafür finde ich das Buch dann doch zu düster und gruselig - was mir wiederum aber wirklich gut gefallen hat :-)

this very light literature is for those who adore explorimg. it is very different from the movie so if you have watched that already you can still read the book and find out new details, plots and storylines. this applies to every book to movie adaptation btw. although the story takes place during summer coraline is such an autumnal classic. there is only one big set, the house. ecxept for one scene in one chapter the entire book takes place at home. or the other home. i adored reading this. it has been on my reading list for so long. now that i finally snatched my own copy i finally could. theres only 160 pages, i couldve read that book in like three days or even less. but i wanted to enjoy it and let the aesthetic linger, let the plot simmer. so it took me two weeks. so worth it. coraline is simply a modern classic.

This story has reserved a place in my heart from start to finish. This time it's not just the course itself that's convincing, but also the great illustration.

If you think the movie is scary, then oh boy do I have news for you. Neil Gaiman's mind should honestly be studied. Personally, I would like to know how the concept of ''Coraline'' came to fruition, because there's no way you just randomly create a parallel universe of such caliber in your head one day. Anyway, besides having a ton of fun with this, I can also promise you that you will most certainly develop an aversion to buttons of any kind. Do not despair though, ''Coraline'' also has its heartwarming moments, which often carry profound messages and encourage you to look for a deeper meaning. Oh, and there are also circus mice, a talking cat, and weird opera singers, which offer some reprieve from all the scary stuff. Enjoy!

Dieses Buch wird immer einen besonderen Stellenwert für mich haben. Ich habe Coraline seit langem mal wieder gelesen und habe mich erneut in die Geschichte und den Schreibstil verliebt. Irgendetwas an der Atmosphäre des Buches, an den eigenartigen und doch liebenswerten Charakteren, an dem Gruselfaktor, der mich heute noch abholt, und bereitet mir einfach jedes Mal so viel Freude am Lesen.
