Caraval, a magical place in which you never know what might be real or what is made to make you go insane and question your own existence. If I were Scarlett, all of these people having to do with Caraval would have ended up in the ER. This poor girl was literally going through it trying to find her sister. This whole book screamed for confusion and I was here for all of it. It felt like a fever dream you could not be awaken from, in a good way? Good thing Julian was here for all of it, Scarlett felt so easy when he was around that somehow anytime his name appeared before me, I actually felt safe as well. Donatella, who was always seen as the troubled and naive little sister, proved us so wrong at the end, I cannot wait to pick up her book and see what her story beholds. -

Magic, a mystery to be solved and unexpected and unconditional love. All I could ever want in a book. I'm excited to get to know Tella more in the next two books even though I am sad about not reading so much about Scarlett... Thank you Stephanie Garber for the amazing world of Caraval. -

This book was way better than...
This book was way better than I expected! There was so much mystery and a wonderful world of fantasy. I really wish I could read this book for the first time again. I hope the rest of the series is as good as book one. -

Don't let it fool you
Reading this book was as easy as the story was intriguing. Within just a few chapters, I was fully absorbed in the wondrous world of Caraval - feeling as amazed and curious, yet sceptical, as the main character did. At times though, the story was a little too fast-paced for my liking, with too many things happening all at once, what made it difficult to keep up with all of the emotions that were evoked throughout the story. Nonetheless, it was a good book, and - even though I'd been warned - it had me fooled. What an ending!
