The Tyranny of Faith

Upon finishing the first volume in Richard Swan's Empire of the Wolf - trilogy, I asked myself: can it get any better? The answer is simple: yes it can! Only after a few pages I was right back in Swan's world, living and breathing alongside Helena and Vonvalt in order to uncover the rotten core at the centre of the Sovan Empire. As I have read a solid number of dark fantasy novels, I am confident to say that my nerves are far from being rattled easily. However, Swan's refreshing approach to the realm of the supernatural and his indepth discussion of moral and legal issues surprised me time and time again and made for a compulsive read. Therefore, the good news is: you are in for a hell of a reading ride. The bad new is: I have to wait until February 2024 for the last volume in the series, which is utter torment.
