An Education in Malice the sizzling and addictive dark academia romance everyone is talking about!

I know, I said no more retellings, but actually I just found out that it's based on ''Carmilla''. Sometimes it's awesome to be that oblivious. This book ticked off so many boxes, I didn't even knew I liked. Get yourselves ready for some dark academia, rivals to lovers, murder and sapphic romance (well and some spice).The story is about two girls at this gothic boarding school, competing against each other in poetry class. Both want to impress their highly esteemed professor, by doing literally everything it takes. EVERYTHING. Well, that's an education I wouldn't want to miss.

Dark, alluring, thrilling! A great read with such a dark vibe and captivating characters. Another great queer vampire story by S. T. Gibson. I really love her work and writing style so much!

Last year I read "A Dowry of Blood", because if you tell me there's polyamorous vampires obviously I am going to read it. And then I saw that this book was coming out. I was so excited. And this book, in my opinion, was actually even better than "A Dowry of Blood"! It's difficult to describe just how thoroughly this book pulled me in. Almost immediately I was obsessed with it. This time the story takes place on a college campus in Massachusetts during the sixties and this was so fun to read! The characters were also just incredibly compelling. Our main character Laura comes from a farm in Mississipi and is firmly religious; and yet, is she maybe hiding a bit of a darker side? And Carmilla. I don't even really know what to say about Carmilla except that I love her so much! If you couldn't tell from the names alone, this is a retelling of the book "Carmilla" by Sheridan le Fanu ( yes exactly, the vampire novel that is actually even older than Bram Stoker's "Dracula"), but fear not: I haven't read Carmilla (yet) and I still understood the story and everything without problems; though it might make the story even better if you actually read "Carmilla" first... Anyway. This book was absolutely incredible, but I might be biased because I just love reading about queer vampires...
