Red, White & Royal Blue: Collector's Edition A Novel

This book made me so happy. Romantic, charming, funny and absolutely bingeable. I enjoyed reading this book so much. Following the story of these two characters, seeing how they develop, how their relationship starts to change, how they begin to understand what’s happening and how they can’t help falling in love with each other was an absolute delight! And it’s not just a superficial romance, the characters really grow on you up to the point where you’d start a fight in order to protect them and their happiness. Alex and Henry are so adorable, each in their own way. It’s about attraction, about being young, having fun, understanding who you are and fighting for what you believe in. Beautifully written (keep your highlighters close, you’re gonna need them), strong and absolutely able to make you tear up or burst out laughing within just a few paragraphs. This book is like a warm and fluffy (probably pink) pillow that makes you dream of a better world full of hope and love. And honestly, we need that. A heartwarming read that will mend something inside you, you didn’t know was broken.

Ich habe am Anfang ein wenig gebraucht, um in die Geschichte zu finden, aber irgendwann war es einfach wirklich richtig gut. Die Charaktere waren lustig, besonders und gut ausgearbeitet und vor allem Henry und Alex haben einfach so toll zusammen harmoniert. Die Emotionen zwischen den beiden waren gut greifbar und mir hat vor allem ihre lockere, liebevolle Art miteinander umzugehen gut gefallen. Auch die Probleme am Ende wirkten nicht erzwungen und dadurch habe ich wirklich mit den Protagonisten mitgefiebert. Ich bin absolut begeistert!

this was one of the first printed books i read in english and i loved every word! in my opinion casey did a great job portraying those multi-layered characters i'm keeping close to my heart now. i especially enjoyed how they let them develop and grow as human beings. the collector's edition is obviously the same in some parts but the big difference is the beautifully illustrated endpapers by Vanessa Kelley (@vkelleyart on instagram) and the additional chapter in henry's pov!! now you maybe ask yourself, is it really worth it to go and get this edition aswell when you already have the earlier one? yes, 1000% ;) i'm very thankful for casey for putting out this wonderful story and introduce the world to the o&o henry (long list of middle names nb can remember) mountchristen-fox and alex claremont-diaz! history, huh? bet they've made some! p.s. book based movie is out soon!

Ich habe dieses Buch bereits vor eineinhalb Jahren im Sommerurlaub gelesen und war absolut begeistert. Zum Ende des Jahres habe ich einen Reread gestartet, weil ich im Urlaub in Neuseeland die Special Edition entdeckt habe und einfach mitnehmen musste. Ich liebe dieses Buch. Es hat mich auch beim zweiten Mal völlig mitreißen können. Die langsam wachsende Beziehung zwischen Alex und Henry nimmt einen mit auf eine Achterbahn der Gefühle. Man fühlt mit ihnen, egal ob sie nun am Anfang streitend in der Hochzeitstorte landen oder sich langsam näherkommen. Der witzige aber auch zum Teil sehr tiefgehende Schreibstil der Autorin macht es einem nicht sehr schwer in die Geschichte einzutauchen und die E-Mails zwischendurch bringen eine gewisse Leichtigkeit mit hinein. Alex und Henry sind als Protagonisten einfachen ein Traum. Sie sind so unterschiedlich und beide starke Persönlichkeiten mit Unsicherheiten und doch passen sie so gut zusammen. Dieses Buch zeigt wirklich, dass Liebe nicht immer einfach oder "diplomatic" ist, aber dass sie etwas unglaublich starkes ist, wofür man kämpfen muss. Red, White and Royalblue ist eins meiner Lieblingsbücher, bei denen ich nie aufhören werde sie zu empfehlen. Also an alle, die es noch nicht getan haben: Lest dieses Buch!

Obwohl ich mich nicht für Politik interessiere und es mir manchmal ein bisschen zu viel wurde definitiv 5 Sterne wert! Ich fand es teilweise zum schreien witzig und die geheime Beziehung total aufregend. Wer nicht auf typische schnulzige Teenie Lovestorys mit schnellen Problemlösungen steht muss sich was anderes suchen.
