The Last Murder at the End of the World

If there is one author to bend the boundaries of crime fiction, to stretch one's imagination to the fullest and to leave me hanging in the air with one cliffhanger after another it is Stuart Turton. As with his debut "The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle", Turton tied me wholly to each and every page of his newest murder mystery. Everytime I thought that I had finally found some answers he just came around with yet another plot twist which made me question everything I had read so far anew. Everyone is a suspect, everything is shady and murky clues are everywhere - but which of them are the right ones?? It is always the greatest fun to read Turton's books as they teach me to trust nobody (especially not the narrator) and to expect the unexpected in every shape and form. His much praised and very individual talent lies in his capability to mix together a whole bunch of genres in order to keep narrative tropes fresh and to invent himself anew with every new book. I hope there will be many more to come!

A one of a kind genre-bending, utopian whodunnit with great characters, crazy twists and sooo many questions. Never read anything like it. Is it science-fiction? Is it a thriller? Who knows, but it sure is a wild ride that keeps you guessing until the very end.
