Find your own kind of happiness
"What is happiness?" This question is living in Yeongjus head, the owner of a struggling little bookshop. She fulfilled her dream with the bookshop, but finds it hard to find footing in her newfound independence. There are different characters: an author, a barista, a mom, her struggling son, and more, who all go through hardship in their life. The bookshop begins to be a place of peace for all of them to take a break and to slow down. I kindly recommend this book to everyone who might have the same question about their happiness as Yeongju. For everyone who might need to learn to appreciate and recognise the small things and the little traces of happiness during the day and to not give up. Let the cast of the Hyunamdong-bookshop inspire you to look around, find the small things and your own form of happiness whatever it might be. -

A must read for everone that dreames of opening their own bookshop and those who just need a break. We accompany Yeongju on her journey to open her own bookshop, after getting burned out at her old job. Over time we get to know some of the lovely customers, staff and neighbours that make a home out of this small bookshop, for everyone willing to open their heart. Reading this book feels like drinking your favourite cup of tea on a rainy day. -

Calm and cosy atmosphere
This book is a perfect example of the "Slice of Life" genre. We follow Yeongju through the days at the bookshop, while getting to know different characters in the process. There isn't that much of a plot, so I'd say it's something for readers that choose books based on vibes and don't expect a complicated storyline. -
