Creation Lake A Novel

The protagonist of this novel is an American agent hired by an unknown employer to infiltrate an anarchist commune. She is adept at acquiring intelligence and entrapping targets, fully blunted to anything she's doing. Creation Lake is a slightly meandering novel between a very slow plan and a philosophers' emails on Neanderthals. Kushner develops several interesting themes such as the fate of other humanoid species, our lack of knowledge of the past, motherhood, and the ever sameness of an agent's work. This all while keeping very close to every uncomfortable thought of the protagonist.
