All That's Left in the World

The last book I read was my favourite book, but now that I finished this one, I guess I found a new favourite :) The characters are just so likable as they take you with them on the journey. It's been the first time for quite some time that a book made me feel an emotion and made me feel like I have to continue reading and made me feel like I want to finish it, but don't want it to end, but this book managed to do all these things and I have absolutely no clue why, but good job, eric j. brown, i guess :) ...weiterlesen

I like reading books with queer representation because they often have more of a love story than: Look at this man and this woman they are a man and a woman, so they must be in love (Obviously that's not always the case, there are really good love stories between a man and woman out there but that is not the point). But I also love it when there is action in the book. As cute as a modern story with two people who meet and fall in love is, I like it when something thrilling happens. When I first picked up this book and saw it was post-apocalyptic AND queer, I knew I needed to read it. And it doesn't disappoint! The focus isn't solely on the romance and they take their time to get there (more or less). It is also friendship and it is sad. They both lost everyone they knew, I mean 80% of the world population is dead... They both have things they don't want to talk about but they grow closer and begin to trust each other. Something that isn't easy in a world where you sometimes need to do things you would never do in our world to survive. ...weiterlesen
