The Riva-Kids always have attracted a lot of attention: Superstar model Nina Riva, surfing all-star Jay, talented photographer Hut and Kit the youngest who's ready to be taken seriously as a woman and a surfer. They had a very special Tradition, a end of the summer party, every Year. Everybody talks about it and every Icon is invited to that special event, it is the craziest, most epic Party in Malibu and even the siblings are exited, excep of Nina, her husband left her a few nights before the party and everything she want is to escape the spotlight. Whats supposed to be a funny and legendary Party in the long list of the riva kids turns out as a nignmare, everone of them tries to hide a secret But what do you do when the biggest family problem walks in through the front door? I loved her book, of course was the story very emotional but I alo like the charakters and with what they struggled. It is a ver authentic  book with real life problems.

Das Buch setzt den Leser an den Strand und umhüllt ihn mit einer Meeres Brise. Die Atmosphäre, sowie die storyline sind super ausgearbeitet! Außerdem kann man gut mitfiebern und schließt die Protagonistin ins Herz. Es hat viel Spaß gemacht das Buch zu lesen :)

I've had my struggles with Taylor Jenkins Reid. I didn't like Seven Husbands (Sorry!), and Daisy Jones wasn't for me on the first try either, but Malibu Rising, for some reason, finally got me though. Maybe it's cause I love celebrity mess. Because really, this is just that plus some top notch summer vibes, which I also love (and needed), so I basically hit the jackpot with this one. I also got really attached to Nina (My favorite eldest daughter), so that carried me through a lot of the book, but by no means am I trying to say that you will be bored. There is really no time for that. The first few chapters might seem chill, but once the ball gets to rolling it just doesn't stop. Get ready to be messy, absurd, emotional, hopeful and every thing all at once.

Messy and beautiful

The atmosphere is mesmerizing! Sun-soaked beaches, salty hair, surfers, a huge party. But it's not just fun, it's emotional, dramatic, and chaotic. Each character had their own story which added so much depth, and it made me feel connected to every single one of them. Also, the dynamics of this family were so intriguing with all their secrets and messiness. And that time period! Loved the nostalgia but also the raw emotions of the era. At times, I was literally tearing up. It's the perfect mix of family love, betrayal, and redemption that I couldn’t get enough of. A drama-filled story that made me feel everything. It’s messy, it’s beautiful, and it’s my highlight of the summer.
