Spannendes Prequel

Es war schön Pip noch einmal in Action zu erleben. Das Murder Mystery Dinner war sehr gut umgesetzt und man konnte gut folgen. Die Freunde von Pip alle nochmal dabei zu haben, fand ich auch toll. Mit Ausnahme von Ant, der mir so sehr auf die Nerven gegangen ist. Ein ganz unangenehmer Charakter, wie man ja bei GGBB schon merkt. Dass am Ende Ravi kurz auftaucht hat mich sehr gefreut und wie Pip dann beschließt, dass der Andie Bell Fall ihr Thema wird, fand ich sehr schlüssig. Ein gelungenes Prequel.

Das Bich war sehr atmosphärisch, die Charaktere hat man lieben (und manche auch etwas weniger mögen können) und alles in allem ein guter Start in die Reihe. Ein Stern Abzug weil verschiedene Faktoren nicht so gut ausgearbeitet waren wie man es von Holly Jacksen gewohnt ist. Dennoch eine Absolute Empfehlung für alle die nach den drei Hauptbüchern nicht genug bekommen haben.

Just a taste of murder

This was a joy to read (pun intended). No, really, it's a great novella to read if you like the full trilogy of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Orginally published after the firsts book was out Kill Joy tells the story of a birthday dinner among Pip's frined group before the first book takes place. They all get together and dress up for a 1920s inspired murder-mystery dinner. Everyone gets a role assigned to them and in each passing round more secrets and clues are uncovered. While Pip would much rather be at home thinking about her upcoming school project, her EPQ, at the start of the game, she is in head over heels by the time the last clue is revealed. While her friends feast on Pizza, Pip gets her first taste of solving a murder (more or less). With many referenecs to the first book and the characters of Little Kilton, Kill Joy is a fun read. You even get to read Pip's characters instructions and the clues she and her friends get from the game. Maybe you'll guess better than them who 'murdered' someone in the 1920s?
