Extremely well written

Bewertung am 01.07.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2528337

Bewertet: eBook (ePUB 3)

it took me less than two days to read this book, so I'm not sure why some reviews are calling it slow. Jumping timelines and perspectives tends to annoy me, whereas here, it felt like just the right way to tell the story and build suspense. I can't wait to read other titles by Liz Moore.

A very quiet and slow mystery...

Bewertungsnummer: 2260774

Bewertet: eBook (ePUB 3)

A very quiet and slow mystery drama that lives through its atmospheric and slow story telling. It switches through timelines and characters but keeps its pace constant. I loved the camp vibes and overall character-driven drama, which always shows great empathy and nuance.

''When lost sit down and yell'' (or: don't venture into the woods?)

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This book has been on my tbr for quite some time. I don't know what took me so long, but I do know that I absolutely loved it! This novel is a combination of historical fiction, mystery and thriller, with multiple perspectives, taking us on a tour through the Adirondack summer camp. When Barbara Van Laar vanishes from the camp, you could say history repeats itself! Her little brother also disappeared, never to be found again. Certainly sucks to be born into this family... This story invites us into a gripping dynasty of secrets, strong women and lots of drama. I think, what I like most about it, is how effortlessly you get transported into this time an place! Perfect literary mystery!
