"The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo” was the first novel by Taylor Jenkin Reid for me and I was instantly a huge fan of her after. Reid manages it to tell the story of the hollywood-icon in such a realistic, emotional and exciting way, I had to google once if the person Evelyn Hugo existed in real life (that wasn’t the case, sadly...). I especially liked the writing style and the multi-layered and interesting characters. In addition to that, the whole thing was also an emotional rollercoaster... which I love!

I was blown away by this book! The epic life of fictional Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo captured me from the very beginning and even brought me to tears in the end. It really felt like I was experiencing all the events in this book (we're talking Hollywood in the fifities until the eighties) along with the characters. This wild mix of love, crime, friendship and the dream of success took me in for a ride and presented an ending that I did not see coming.
