Ninth House

I love this book to death and back. The characters are really well built and the world complex. It was my first big book I read and I felt engrossed from the first page. I can't express how interesting and gripping it is. I wish I could read this for the first time again, even though I find cliffhangers absurdly frustrating. It's a must read that is literally impossible to put down and I will never shut up about it. This book will always be in my heart and in the back of my mind. I love you, Leigh Bardugo.

I am in Love with the writing style of this author, she manages to creat such a scary atmosphere. While also adding just the right kind of humor for me. I was so wrapped up in the story I could barely put my book down. You do gotta pay a lot of attention though so it wasn't an easy read especialy if you're not reading it in you first language. :)

The Ninth House from Leigh Bardugo is an awesome, dark and twisted fantasy novel. The main character Alex Stern has to find her way through an University full of mysteries and currupt Yale members. Already having a hard time keeping up with university, Alex has to deal with a series of unexplainable murders. Being able to see ghost, Alex has to find a way to solve the crime and survive the harsh campus life. I really liked the novel. It shows how hard life can be for people, who do not come from wealth or high education, particulary for women with foreign roots. Alexs character is dark, sarcastic and a bit unhinged, which I find refreshing and fun. A must read for all Leigh Bardugo and dark fantasy fans.

I really liked the dark academia setting with the different houses. The story was interesting and the writing style was captivating. The main protagonist is not soft or easy to like, but this makes this story so interesting. There are some really heavy things happening, so it is definitely an adult book! The two different POVs in different time points gave more depth to the story.

Alex Stern, früher rebellischer Teenager führt ein ziemlich zwielichtiges Leben inklusive Drogen Dealer Freunden und zweifelhaften Jobs. Nachdem sie auf mysteriöse Weise einen Mord überlebt wird ihr ein Stipendium an der Universität Yale angeboten. Alex wird hineingezogen in eine Welt aus Magie, Geheimgesellschaften und einer übernatürlichen Mordserie. Perfekte Lektüre für die dunkle Jahreszeit! Alex Stern ist die perfekte Antiheldin.
